What we do with what you send us

This clause has not been written yet and is not in force.

Will cover: that we use what you send to answer your question and to get better at spotting threats, that we see where a link goes rather than the page behind it, and that we do not sell your information.

Not written yet, and not in force.

Where your checks are run

When you ask us to check a link, the whole address comes to us — not just the site name, but everything after it. That is where most of the dodgy stuff hides, and we would miss it if we only looked at half. We never fetch the page itself, and we never keep a copy of it.

Checking it means comparing the address against outside sources of security intelligence, alongside our own systems. Before anything leaves us we strip the identifying and personal parts — the query, any tokens, anything that points to you — because a link's reputation doesn't need them and they'd be no use to anyone else. We don't name those sources in your result: the check is ours, and standing behind it is our job, not yours.

We do not sell what you send us — not to them, not to anyone.

If you are in a circle

This clause has not been written yet and is not in force.

Will cover: that threats raised about you are shared with the person looking after your circle, and that it goes one way.

Who at Verret can see this

This clause has not been written yet and is not in force.

Will cover: that nobody at Verret goes through your activity as a matter of routine, that there are exceptional circumstances where someone may need to, and that when it happens it is recorded.

Every check you run

This clause has not been written yet and is not in force.

Will cover: that running a check means what you send is used to answer it and to improve detection, and that this applies to checks run without an account as well.
